Employees are Pawns
Employees are Pawns
In the corporate world, the game is always on,
The competition fierce, the pressure never gone,
Employees are pawns, mere cogs in the machine,
Their worth measured by profit, by numbers on a screen.
The power-hungry climb the ranks,
Crushing all who stand in their way,
Their ambition driving them forward,
No thought for the price others pay.
For when the bottom line is all that matters,
The human cost is easily overlooked,
Employees become expendable,
Sacrificed for the sake of the book.
Lives are shattered, families torn apart,
As the machine grinds on without a heart,
The tragedy of the corporate world,
A story of greed, of power unfurled.
But still we play the game, day after day,
For we're caught in the trap, with bills to pay,
And so we work and we strive, to climb the ladder high,
Hoping that one day, we'll reach the top, and touch the sky.
But in the end, what have we gained,
When we've sacrificed so much, for the sake of the game,
The tragedy of the corporate world,
A reminder that there's more to life, than the bottom line unfurled.
