Empty promises are like raindrops in the Sahara desert

Unable to water the land or to keep us together

Raindrops were like your touch

Always needed but never enough

In hard times I wanted to hold your hand

I wanted for us to make plans

To improve the love that nearly died

Threatened by the countless times that you lied

Empty promises are there to manipulate

The heart that you don't want to break

But mine shattered when I found out that you lied
