Everything in life is a “sale”. Since “birth” we have learned to sell

We influenced when we were a “baby”

We cried. We were selling. We got the “milk”

We were selling !!

We grew up. We promised to be “good kids” in return of gifts.

We were selling!!!

I am a fan of competition and selling.. Guys don’t feel bad. Merriam says SALE is an act of selling. Yes we “act” to transfer title to property from one person to another person for a price. We offer logical, emotional arguments , hypothesis to make a “sale”

I have used six honest principles to sell. RECIPROCATION, COMMITMENT, SOCIAL PROOF, LIKING, AUTHORITY AND SCARCITY.

Let s plunge now to take a pledge… oath .. To make all of us a “UNSTOPPABLE SELLING MACHINE”


10 commandments – sales oath

I, will never sell, while prospecting, I will follow the OLSPC cycle ( OPPORTUNITY, LEAD, SUSPECT, PROSPECT, CUSTOMER)

I, will work hard to help prospects realize their “needs”, they did not know they had. The beginning of buyers journey leads no place for pushing products and services on “ PROSPECTS”.

I, will use a buyer centric approach with less of the word “I” and more of the word “You”. First “ cooperate” with the opponent and then “ replicate”. It is a game theory of Tit for Tat, “ ITERATED PRISONERS DILEMMA”

I don’t SELL because I don’t know how to design and develop. I sell because I know the entire “womb to tomb” approach in software value chain. I can shift left , right in software value chain. I can shift “up” and think like a User”. I sell need>want>desire> aspirations of my buyer”.

My role as Sales Professional is to “change the course of history” and make things happen that would not have happened without me. I am a sales monk, I will sell with élan and poise . My buyer should see “an advocate, guide” in me. I will not launch straight “ into the pitch”. I am the “chosen” one to sell and I sell because I love to sell a bundle of “aspirational benefits”. I create “Context” and “Construct” to sell. People are emotional creatures and they will do anything for people they “ like”. I will be loved first in OLSPC cycle.

I will never stop reading, absorbing, experimenting and growing as a sales professional. I will, Learn technology, learn sciences , learn modesty, humility, be curious and be an elite sales professional. I will sell Ferrari to a monk, ice to an Eskimo. Every act in this earth is not altruistic, indirect sales is hardest to spot. SELLING is so fundamental that you wont be able to come up with a single case of someone doing something without a “ SALE” in his mind.

I, became sales professional, not because I was communicative, but because I was more social, more understanding, more expert, more patient and more consistent. I was empathetic. I plan to here for a long time. I may have sold bad ideas or products, it is only unstable in the long run, I have ESS( Evolutionary Stable Strategy) to give “ value”, I will always start by giving “ value” first.

I will thank those who help me in my role and remember that “ Victory has thousand fathers but defeat is an orphan.

I will do “compassionate selling”, “empathy selling”. I, will take notes in my CRM system, so that my prospects don’t have to repeat themselves in future interactions, I will show up on time, before I call, I will form “ hypothesis” of need to have a good reason as why I am calling.. , I will not “ sell” if I realize that they don’t have a “need.”

“No” is my “ New Yes”. I am on a honest mission to make my prospect s life better and I will leave tailored voice mails that add value to my prospect. I will act with highest degree of professionalism, ethics, fairly represent my products and services.
