Favour Oneself (Week 18 Theme: Luck)
Favour Oneself (Week 18 Theme: Luck)
It is debatable whether it’s luck or individual talent
That outshines in the final analysis so as to help us foment –
We believe that luck favours those who favour themselves
There’s no alternative to hardship as we know from the Gospels.
If you are successful in life, then you are very lucky
But success can also be had in our own land; so don’t go to Kentucky.
Chance and luck are beyond mankind, they are the key –
For a writer to establish herself, otherwise she’s sure to be unlucky.
If money and fame are the measures of one’s repute –
If fast cars and even faster life are reasons to compute
If we spend a large portion of our lives in hot pursuit
Then if failure comes, the downfall and the pain become so acute.
Luck is that gem one chances upon all of a sudden,
Out of a plethora of such chances, only a few make it to the dozen,
The Almighty has chosen a few, so let us not get sullen
Let the route be rough, when we can view the final junction.
