Festive Season Adventure
Festive Season Adventure
The long-awaited day,
Dawned unto me as many would say,
To me, it was to be an amazing adventure,
Going out to dinner in order to venture.
Our journey started as expected,
Everything seemed good as planned,
Not forgetting to pack our lunch,
Wearing our clothes as a match.
On our way towards the mall,
We bumped into something small,
Sending me sprawling down the lawn,
Clutching on dry leaves and red soil staining my gown.
Like a swift code, my companion,
Reached for my wounded chin,
Wiping out the dust around my mouth,
Sharp pain cut across my breath.
Turning round to the nearest health centre,
A scan indicated a minor crack in the head structure,
A chill breeze ran down my spine,
Unanswered questions queued up in a line.
Why I was the only disturbing question!
My companion was in the same position,
Is this how our festive season would end?
Admission to the hospital was the last thing I need.
