Flight
Flight
Long they fly from their nest,
Seeking Warmth from the Sun to avoid winter's best,
For a full years journey they must start,
And one can only imagine what is in their heart.
If one should fall to a hunter's bow,
The other remains alone to winter's blow,
Their love is lifelong; one for another.
The flight of the snow geese is indeed very long.
That you can lift your ear to hear their song,
Northward they fly at winter's end,
Pleading and crying to find their friend.
I need not look when I hear them cry,
For I feel the bruised heart and hence I sigh.....
For their love is lifelong; made for each other; never to part.
