Footprints On The Sand
Footprints On The Sand
Waves were coming and waves were going
So many answers curious eyes were desperate on knowing
The saline fragrance of the ocean muffled up with dampen shore
A nomad walked astray beneath the stars, moved to her very core
The identity she had left behind was lurking in the form of her eerie shadow
Her dark ebony hair masquerading the injuries, as on her face they flow
The bruises that were agonizing were now her scars of glory
As the chilly zephyr tickled the wounds, she smiled memorizing her story
Fleeing from everyone she had ever known in the hope of exploring life
She was born for so much more, not merely to be someone’s ‘wife’
Her journey had begun with a leap of faith and trust in her ambitions
She was ready to fly but viability had certain conditions
In this out land she herself was the stranger
A brave warrior ready to face tomorrow’s dangers
A tightly clutched fist was a vow of her determination
She was merely adrift but was well acquainted with her destinations
The struggles of the future still seemed bitter-sweet
A new adventure would be waiting for her on every novel street
She was scared a bit but as saw the enchanting view before her eyes
She realized this place wasn’t a war-zone, it was her paradise
Heaven that would turn her dreams into reality
Finally from the clutches of the patriarchy, she was free
In the callow moonlight, she glanced at the strokes of destiny on palms of her hands
She kept ambling as the freezing water-carved foot-prints of a hero on the wet sand…
