For That Adorable Sister
For That Adorable Sister
Never written anything to you, my adorable sister, living faraway from me,
Last time we met, I remember, it was another month of August,
And the rains receded a bit after pouring for one day almost,
Only the day before had I reached the town,
(Being away from it for three long years)
And the first thing I did after unpacking and freshening up,
Was to turn up at your house,
That beautiful single storied house beside the park
With a little garden and pebbled pathway,
I still remember that astounding look on your face,
Seeing me after three years,
'You? When came back?'
You asked;
Now that, after so many years,
You are no longer in our town
And now that the town had disappeared too,
Along with your house and that cute looking garden,
I dream to meet you,
Even if accidentally,
In another town perhaps,
On a busy street,
On a sidewalk,
Almost bumping into you,
And you,
Looking at me with that same astounded look,
And asking me
'You? When arrived here?'
And I would say
'Only yesterday'.
