Tragedy Crime Others

From the Diary of a Rape Victim

Some said I was at fault,

Others didn't want to talk!

For everyone It's just an issue of two days.

Clamour on social media, debates on news channels!

Dispute between two people wearing black gown,

And again an obscure silence for rest of life, like nothing happened!

Those same people told me that we are worshipped as gods,

Where incidents told me we are object to fulfill wants!

And here it left me in dilemma that we are humans, objects or god?

Some blame religion,

Some says, 'It's clothes'.

Some accuse my character,

and some condemn my destiny!

Everyone knows everything from tip to toe about me,

But does anyone even know who is the culprit?

I have been highlighted in the top columns of newspapers!

Does anyone even remember the culprit's name?

He can live his life with tranquility after a mere punishment.

But I have to spend rest of my life with misery and threats!

I need nothing but just a world,

Where I do not have to be suspicious of everyone who looks at me,

Where I do not have to worry about time,

Where I am only treated as a human not anything else!

Where I do not have to doubt even the person who is truthful to me!

Where it is not just a crime, but a sin!

I do not know what is my fault?

If you find out, please let me know!

Just a mere question asked by a 10 years old rape victim,

Surrounded by darkness, in the middle of four walls from past eight months!

With all the shutters of windows, doors and heart closed!
