Going Down The Memory Lane

Memories, a possession treasured, A possession revered,

A possession missed.

I lay down someday,

And open that box,

With thousands of moments jammed.

They take me down a lane, Adorned with my memories, Some shining some pale.

The moments I lived,

Which I possessed,

Went from my hand into that cherished gloomy box, My heart.

It’s the only place they survive, With silent hopes of being revived. But somewhere I know, They’re gone.

I can miss them, cherish them, relive them. Them – the bittersweet moments.

When I stood at that path, With two wide ends. One the future, one the past. I was in the present, Doubtful and puzzled.

Future was unknown with just hopes of being bright, Totally new with challenges.

And there was the past,

Which I knew thoroughly,

Which I missed lovingly.

My past was pushing me towards the future,

I was reluctantly going,

Conquering and failing those challenges.

Yet unaware each passing second wasn’t disappearing, Contributing to my box.

Present was a pale moment, Changing and passing every second. Sweet, bitter, happy, gloomy.

Thy unknown that a day comes, when this beautiful box gets filled. With no stance of future seen, When present is finally ending, Afterlife,

The whole I’ve got to cherish in.

Contribute to thy box,

Fill it with love.

Happily conquer the future, Live the present which you’ve got.

To be happy when you open thy box, Now not gloomy, cheerful. Love it respect it.

And then at the end open and see, Yours truly,

Life.
