Harm Me No More
Harm Me No More
Harm Me No More
Ever wondered what’s happening now was bound to happen?
We, the human race would never spare anything if given-
Experimentation is our other name- good, bad or ugly,
You name it and we’ve done it!
We have laid our gory hands without any mercy-
Be it the daughters of our country
Or creatures of the animal kingdom
When we lose our wisdom and act ruthlessly
For our selfish motives, we take away all from our Mother,
That Mother who cradles us in the laps of pristine air,
That Mother who provides water so fresh and fair, that too in equal share
That Mother who grants wishes unsaid and rare,
But we the encroachers, trespassed the ecological domain
And never failed to satiate ourselves with what was given,
From temptations of the palate to experimentation for the exotic,
We left no creature untouched, uneaten
We tried to penetrate in domains not meant for us
Did our Mother not give us enough?
Or is it right to say we only for our wants
Rendered her hapless, helpless and miserable-
When our misgivings mounted to the indelible and undeniable,
When we squashed out every single bit of our creator,
We are left only to wonder what’s happening now!
Wake up O wake up Humanity!
It’s time to invoke Sanity
For Mother is agitated, she is enraged and she warns us
Before it’s too late,
Before the doomsday arrives, Oh before it's too late!
Her stinkers of warming the globe didn’t work,
Now instead of global warming, she will infuse global cleansing,
A glimpse of virus so minuscule she has shared-
And the world has come to a standstill,
The human race will soon succumb to her will
If we heed not to her cry ‘Harm me no more!’
Time now is to bow and seek forgiveness
And pledge to her of giving up on all that's not ours
Of giving space to species that are meant to share the planet
Of living in harmony and coexistence
Of surrendering our greed
Of living and letting live all other creed,
Let’s in unison plead to Mother Nature
Harm us no more and we promise to harm you no more!
