The alarm rang loud and clear,
Awakening me from a sleep dear
Averse to raise my sloppy frame,
Out of the bed and face the game
The warden makes her usual round,
To check on us without a sound
And catch the lazy ones in slumber,
Growing day by day in number
The study time at dawn,
Tempts you back to bed at morn
Meditating on books in a row,
With dreams for a cinema show
Physics at morn can be devastating,
So also Chemistry and its balancing
I’d rather read a story book,
In a fictional world for me to hook
While I daydream afore my book,
Am startled as a thunder shook
Waking up to the sound of rain,
Pounding on the window pane
