I Am Now Slow

The whistle blew at the start Black and white post 

I started smart as slow and steady 

I had most energy stored inside me 

So you see I could win 

 I would win 

I should win 

I legged it to the finish line 

Then I thought about the person losing

I slowed down 

Thinking about the crown 

I was the fastest in town 

I lost 

I cried 

I couldn’t of 

Now I was the slowest 

How was I the slowest 

I am now slow 

I’m not used to this 

I quit
