I Miss You
I Miss You
Restless days and long nights
Pass by, and so do I.
Waking up smelling your pillow,
Wondering how it smelt
Of our mingled senses
Leaving imprints of my hand and your hair.
Standing across the kitchen slabs,
I can still feel your arms around my waist,
Your beard ticking me and
The lips leaving a trail down my neck.
I pause and feel the erratic heartbeats,
Touching myself as you touched me.
I miss you,
Your voice, the heavy voice
Laced with deep laughter.
I miss you, your eyes, and how
They twinkle when you look at me,
I miss you, your presence, and how
I felt safe in your arms
And the comfort of our silence.
I see them, the images
Circling in front of my eyes,
In my mind and so
I have to ask,
Can I take a picture with you?
If we ever meet, again?
Can I take a picture of you?
Your ruffled hair,
And that goofy smile.
Can I take a picture of you?
Laughing, while your eyes
Capture my heart.
Can I take a picture of you?
For looking over and over again,
Lest I forget how to smile.
Can I take a picture of you?
Remembering how you make me feel,
If we ever meet, again
Can I take a picture of you?
