I PARCH MY THROAT
I PARCH MY THROAT
Not that I am not thirsty
May be my gender playing the spoil sport with me
I restrain and restrict myself from drinking water
Yes,I am a working woman born in a third world country
Where no toilets greet me for miles and miles
Yes ,I am rural woman
Where I feel shy to go out into the open to pee
As if it is a crime they look down upon me
Yes, I am school and college girl
Where there are no doors to the toilets
I need to walk infront of preying eyes with wicked eyes
For all the neglect
I end up collecting stones in my kidneys
Under bright lights and on the operation table
Yes, I parch my throat at the indifference
Being born as a woman
I have to face this inevitable catastrophe
