I Remember

I remember you Mom,

Singing a lullaby for me,

And I falling asleep in your lap.

I remember you catching

the school bus for me every morning,

Oh! how much I wish I could go back in time,

And tell that naughty daughter of yours,

To wake up in time and help you do some chores.

I remember you Dad,

Tying my shoelaces everyday,

And buying me everything I pointed at.

I remember you Mom,

Making my favorite food,

Even though you were unwell,

I remember everything.

I remember you Mom,

Waking me up at 4 a.m.

And sitting next to me while studying,

So I won't feel lonely.

I remember you Dad,

Dropping me at the exam hall,

And motivating me all the way.

I remember you Mom,

Praying for me each time,

While I wrote my exam.

I remember you Dad,

Holding my hand when I cried,

And couldn't take it anymore.

But now you shall worry no more,

Because this Daughter of yours,

Will make you proud one day.

I promise, for Mom and Dad

You have spent your lives caring for me,

And helping me achieve my dreams.

Now, It's the time for you to truly live,

For you have set your bird in the right direction.

I need not be scared again,

For in my eyes, I have your reflection.
