If I Were a Butterfly
If I Were a Butterfly
If I were a butterfly I would go up in the sky
Over the sun and over the clouds,
I’ll see people eating pie
If I were a butterfly, I’ll fly to a distant land
Overlooking the long sea and miles of clear white sand
If I were a butterfly, I’ll have bright and colorful wings
With a Magpie Robin beside me who sings
If I were a butterfly, I’ll have children chasing me in the park
To get rid of them, I’ll hide in the tree bark
If I were a butterfly, I’ll shine like a bright star
Giving light to people even from afar
If I were a butterfly, I’ll drink nectar from a beautiful flower
I love it even if it tastes bitter or sour
If I were a butterfly, I’ll have many friends
I’ll play with them all day long, a game that never ends
The life cycle of a butterfly does have some pain
But if you will kill me, it’ll all go in vain
