Immortal Souls
Immortal Souls
They often ask what the journey was like and I tell them it was a time when lives were on lease
It felt like I was a barrel trying to swim against the might of furious waves
Like sailing a broken ship in a sea of lost hope, in hope of finding the treasure of peace
It brought death and destruction, the number of people alive was less than those in graves
One country had to go through a constitutional battle to end this war with its destructive roar
Part of my flesh was destroyed in the “war to end all wars” but my immortal soul lived on to suffer even more
Finally the peace was there, it was like the sea of all darkness lit up with hope
But we knew that the good times were eons away and we were under the claws of a lion just like an antelope
Then tragedy struck it all happened all over again, the death-destruction, millions died
Thirty countries fought in two alliances no one could do anything but one and then they tried
They tried and won the battle but raised the states too high for the war, survival was only if we kill or be killed
So we killed, thousands slaughtered in two strikes, yet the war was not over, and all were thrilled
Then we invaded the source of these battles, to stop this war, to get justice for those innocents who died we killed everyone in over way
All the demons were gone from the world all ended and then we felt a cold breeze in the month of May
Those were unprecedented times and so were the actions we took
But deep down in our heart we have our dark secrets, deep down every one of us is a crook
Heaven in not enjoying the afterlife with the demons still in our immortal souls
Heaven is when you face those demons head-on while you are alive and live as whole
