I'm not a wage,

I'm not a whore,

I'm but a woman,

Wanting respect - nothing more!

I work graveyard shifts,

For a sense of self-worth,

Honor my dignity,

For my convictions have no dearth!

Don't hate me for I'm a gender,

Don't dismiss me as weak,

I'll prove to be an equal,

A friend, if you so seek.

An arm candy - I'm not,

An eye candy in the least,

See me as a soul someday,

I pray, be not a beast!
