Jealousy

Jealousy, oh jealousy,

The green-eyed monster that lies within me,

Makes my heart ache with envy,

As I watch others achieve what I long to be.

I try to push it down, to ignore its call,

But jealousy lingers, it's always there,

A constant reminder of what I lack,

And the pain that I cannot bear.

I see others find love, success, and fame,

While I struggle and strain to reach the same,

And jealousy grows, an ever-present flame,

That threatens to consume me in its fiery reign.

But perhaps, just perhaps, there's more to this pain,

Than a simple desire for what I cannot gain.

Perhaps, it's a mirror, reflecting back to me,

My own desires and needs that I cannot see.

Perhaps, it's a call to action, a chance to grow,

To work harder, to strive, to let my inner light glow.

To find my own path, my own way,

And be content with who I am, every single day.

So I choose to embrace my jealousy,

To learn from it, to let it set me free.

To celebrate the successes of others with glee,

And to find my own joy, my own destiny.

Jealousy, oh jealousy,

You will not conquer me,

For I am more than what I see,

And I choose to live my life abundantly.
