Just a drop of blood
Just a drop of blood
Just a drop of blood!
Just a drop of blood please
She came singing in her nagging tone right near my ear
No way! I was disturbed out of my story
The story of the brave Porus and Alexander the Great
I tried to hit her with my Tamil author
Oh no! How can a Gandhian freedom fighter do that?
He believed in non-violence!
A duel between Alexander and an ordinary soldier from Porus’ army
The soldier’s eyes begged for sympathy, as he stood in front of the great warrior
Alexander read his eyes and looked at his raised sword
Suddenly the soldier scratched the strong thigh of Alexander
And ran amongst the sea of corpses floating in blood into the darkness
What’s the point of killing a bewildered simple soldier?
What’s the use of losing my life for a war that’s of no use to me?
He went home with pride of having made an injury on the greatest thigh
My size was no match for her speed
We played a game between Alexander and Porus
And what? The soldier did injure Alexander!
I started scratching my cheek with a sense of defeat
Not the drop of blood that I was bothered about
But the fear of what she would have left behind in my blood!
There she perched on the net, totally intoxicated with my blood
I was too lazy to get up and indulge in non-violence
No disrespect for the Gandhian
I put the book aside, pulled my sheet over my head and slept!
