Marriage - Choice or Compulsio

I have a doubt,

Would like to bring it to your attention.

Please clarify me,

Whether marriage is a Choice or a Compulsion.

It's a man-made relationship,

There's no such system in the nature.

Then why are we forced,

And not allowed to decide our future.

It may be a wonderful feeling,

But why are we forced to go for it.

We are asked to get married,

As soon as Eighteen we hit.

We are doubted now and then,

Also they question our character.

We are treated like aliens,

They consider us as a sinister.

Family, relatives and society,

Criticise us for our decision.

But lesser do they know,

We're already on a career mission.

We are mocked by the people,

They start calling us a burden.

They called us Goddess Lakshmi one day,

And they changed all of a sudden.

There's no particular age to get married,

Love can happen anywhere, anytime.

But women who are single at their thirties,

Are denounced everytime.

We don't owe our life to others,

We're not bound to give any explanation.

Now we're mature enough to understand,

That marriage is a Choice and not a Compulsion."
