Memoir of Trinket
Memoir of Trinket
A bunch of colored quills
As bookmark
A modest gift from a pal
A few decades back
Her hesitation to attend
My birthday celebration
As she had not enough attire
To match the evening's dress code
Still lingers in memory
She managed to drop in
Before scheduled time
To handover her precious and cute souvenir
With drops of glisten sparkling from her eyes
She carried with elan her huge smile
Wishing me the best for everything
She vanished into thin air
Before fall of evening
We parted ways soon
Chose paths different to excel and croon
My heart is filled with tenderness
Each time I put the bauble on palms and caress
My nonage whispers in my ear...
We shall per se meet in the near future
As goes the saying " friends are forever."
