Middle Of The Night

In the middle of the night,

waiting for sleep to consume me.

While tossing and turning on my bed,

I saw the moon peeping through the window,

as if reading my thoughts,

counting the drops of tears I have shed.

Tried to close my eyes again,

faces of different monsters,

echo of my own negative thoughts,

that's all I can hear and see.

Opened my eyes,

gazed at the reflections from the moonlight,

wondering when will I ever get myself free.

All night I was tangled between me and myself,

arguing with my inner voices,

It went for too long.

Still, the conclusion was unclear,

I wasn't able to find who was right or who was wrong.

After this turmoil, finally my mind got tired and took some rest.

When I saw the sun spreading its rays,

I felt as if it's telling me not to loose hope

and enjoy each day of my life to the fullest.
