My Fear
My Fear
It's not the darkness,
Nor the black shadows of night,
Nor is the swaying black coconut leaves,
Neither the cricket that leaves me in fear.
Tough and tiring day - no problem,
Proving myself in-front of admin - can manage it,
The bitchy clash with colleagues -
I really don't care.
What I fear about is losing a closed friend,
Their disbelief, showing me 'guilty',
Abusing me and accusing me without any reason,
All these leave my eyes in tears.
What scares me - is staying away from my near and dear,
Getting parted from them,
Staying away from home in Bengal, Bengalis and Bengali dishes,
Apart from these, any bare - I can easily bear.
