My Last Breath

My Last Breath

I had never envisioned, That My last breath would be so valuable. I was disillusioned, That love in this world was possible.

I was born in a poor family, My children had inherited poverty. Surviving was quite difficult, We had only a single property.

But I worked hard and sent them to school. But I worked hard and got them food.

My children had grown up in rags And indeed came into riches. Though they never gave me a bag, My grandchildren ate the choicest dishes.

I was left where I was, In the Depths of despair. Still in the frustrating jaws, From which Destiny never did spare.

My voice had never been audible enough, As I had never been powerful enough.

But they remembered not the hand that fed them, They remembered the plot that would house them.

Suddenly my last breath mattered. Not because it would signify a parents' loss, But because it signified again, I almost felt flattered.

When I breathed my last. Everyone was present, With hearts of glee and tears of joy, Not one wept out of attachment.

I had never envisioned, That My last breath would be so valuable. I was disillusioned, That love in this world was possible.
