Listening to the first cry of her daughter

The mother's heart jolted

Holding her little angel close to her 

Her heart was satisfied 

Carrying her for nine months in the womb 

She knew it was her own blood 

The mother was filled with joy forgetting the fact 

That all her family wanted a boy 

She thought, may be, they would change their mind 

She held her baby close to her and kissed her forehead gently

Recognising her husband's footsteps coming closer to her She shivered with countless apprehensions 

Where do I hide from these monsters 

She questioned in her mind with fear 

While pondering to take a decision 

Her husband arrived 

The feeling of fear in her eyes 

The husband lifted the baby from her hand 

Getting a touch of that soft velvety flesh 

He felt reincarnated

Seeing the moon like face of the daughter

The father's heart melted with love

Seeing a change in her husband 

She couldn't believe her eyes 

He bent his head down with a shame 

He slowly held his wife's hand and asked for forgiveness 

Promising to be a responsible husband and father 

He set an example for others
