Obstacles Are Opportunities

Once upon a time, there was a King who did a lot of welfare for his people but all the people were very lazy. The king decided to test his village people. One fine night he placed a huge stone on the roadway and then hid himself to observe if anybody would move the stone out of the way. Some of the King's wealthiest merchants came by and simply walked around it. Many people blamed the King for not keeping the roads clear but none of them did anything about it.

A peasant then came along carrying a load of vegetables. When he came near to the stone he laid down his burden and tried to push the stone after much pushing and straining he finally succeeded. After the peasant went back to pick up his veggies, he noticed a purse lying on the road where the stone had been.

The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the King explaining that the gold was for the person who removed the stone from the roadway. We learn from this story that every obstacle we come across in life gives us an opportunity to improve our circumstances.
