Ode To The Love I Killed

Ode To The Love I Killed

To lose a love that was lost already.

I lost you.

I don't want to lose the memories; help! it's fading faster.

To leave the lover with whom you have dreamt of cherishing togetherness so long as heart permits.

I left you.

But, I can't move forward.

You are a pool of mud after a strong shower; my legs are stuck in this puddle.

Help! Give me a hand!

Not being able to forget the love that once made you forget who you are.

I miss you.

I've grown quieter; angrier.

Not anymore I want to know who I am, not if the change is inevitable.

Help! Can someone pull the chain? Please, stop this train.

To long for the love that had compelled you to isolate the entire world.

I'd chosen the world over you.

Running breathlessly to escape from a kind of emptiness, only to find it in every soul living on earth.

Something we mortals have in common- a precious void.

None can help.

A lover who introduced you to the pain- that love has to offer -is always of more importance than one who selflessly tried to make you happy.

I chose not to be hurt since I happen to be a selfish fool who mistook happiness for the absence of agony.

Besides, love is not a job for a lover who is lazy.

None can help.

Your true love is more likely to end up unsuccessfully, for the success story is unlikely to be in which you loved truly.

I loved too much to see it wither with time; nothing lasts forever.

So, I set the fire and left it to burn into ashes.

The person you love is often not the person you can live a life with.

You can't help.

It's better to be lonely while being loved than to be lonely while loving the other restlessly.

I was lonely.

I am lonely,

So will I be?

I don't want help.

I see an apparition.

I can feel it breathing quietly inside me.

Crouching down in one corner, it stares at me.

It's so dark that I can not make out its features; more like a shadow that I cast on the floor but doesn't appear to be mine.

The silhouette doesn't talk to me, it doesn't scare me.

It's just growing bigger day by day.

So strong it's presence, I can't deny it anymore.

Please, leave me.

I do not want to turn into your ghost.
