Odysseus Journey
Odysseus Journey
I touched the sun but my skin did not burn,
and kissed the moon while I passed by-
I brushed a star on my return;
on my journey home to say goodbye.
I gulped down the sea but did not drown,
and devoured the world like a piece of pastry-
I hollered aloud but it did not make any sound;
on my journey home to say goodbye.
I hoarded my fears and dissipated their worth,
and resided where the rules were abolished-
I roamed the air and inhaled the earth;
on my journey home to say goodbye.
I journeyed home to say goodbye,
to shed my skin,
to face the sky,
to strain my soul beyond my heart,
to gather years of that fell apart,
to set afloat old words and acts,
to silence all new melodies,
for one last breath,
for one last cry-
