Poverty

In the world of riches and gold,

There are stories left untold,

Of the struggles of the poor,

Of their lives and hardships for sure.

Poverty, a constant pain,

A struggle that never wanes,

It's the scourge of human life,

A never-ending strife.

The poor are often forgotten,

Their cries are often misbegotten,

But their lives are a constant battle,

With the world as their only rattle.

They toil and work every day,

In hopes of a brighter way,

But the world seems to turn a blind eye,

To their pain and never-ending sighs.

They dream of a better life,

Free from struggle and strife,

But their dreams remain just dreams,

As poverty rips apart their seams.

Yet, amidst the poverty and despair,

There are those who truly care,

Who offer a helping hand,

To the poor and the underprivileged in the land.

For every poor soul that exists,

There are those who offer assistance,

Bringing hope and joy to their lives,

And helping them break poverty's binds.

So let us not forget,

The poor and their constant fret,

For they are a part of this world,

And deserve to be heard and unfurled.

Let us strive to create a world,

Where poverty's flag is unfurled,

And the poor can finally say,

That they too have a better day.
