Preamble – A Gamble

In school as a kid, Taught I was

‘Preamble’ to be without flaws.

It was only words play-up,

I never realized till I grew up.

Four words that promised Secularity,

Justice, Liberty, Equality and Fraternity.

Today these words sound as Profanity,

Due to the loss of its validity.

Where is Peace,

When there is no Justice?

Justice Delayed,

Is Justice Denied!

Where is Flexibility,

When there is no Liberty?

When caste and class voids Integrity,

Where lays the status of Equality?

We humans have lost our solidarity,

And yet it is chartered Fraternity.

Long Live our Constitution,

We survive by our Intuition.

Theoretically, we preach Preamble,

Practically, our lives are A Gamble.
