Prospering Yet Rooted
Prospering Yet Rooted
Sitting under the shade of the Giant Banyan tree,
Rolled back images of my childhood and my life,
As I find my few dear collections, resting to my side.
Admiring my first drawing of yesteryears,
It's a sapling, coloured in green, still steals my smile.
For this green was never a usual one,
Marking a belief in a new beginning, hope to prosper but with pride.
As I admire, the spread of massive Banyan
Shooting out its root, to flourish, prosper and to care
Leaves me to realise, how it sailed through in its journey, to grow but always to share.
Always growing like roots, progressing yet rooted to a spot
No matter how far we may be flung, our roots bind us to that spot.
I, The green band on tricolour, reminding of the seeds of thought
That was sown, reaping the fruits of love, courage and care for all.
As we continue to spread like the Giant – Chested tree
Still remain rooted to our soil, sailing through it shoots,
For its shoots coloured in green, still steals my smile …..
