Race

Race

All my life has been a race,

A race that goes from place to place.

Each and every race has a different course,

Each race has rules - always enforced.

Each race has opponents, constantly aware,

Ahead or behind travelling there.

Not every race will be won,

Not every race will be that fun.

In this race of life and death,

Each turn will leave a string attached.

But the challenge is as life goes on, to cut them off and move along.

Don't let those ties hold you back,

Cut them off and get back on track.

The road will never come to an end

Until you finally reach the stand.

That great big stand on top the hill.

That great big stand full of people, full of will.

When you get there, time will tell,

If you're sent to heaven or hell.

At this point the race will end,

At the end of this your wounds will mend.

Touched by Angel's oh so dear,

Touched by Angel's whipping tears.

Pain will flee, the scars will fade,

The scene will slip, the trending - change.

Life will continue as it has before,

Only this time the race wont be a chore.

This time instead of a race,

You'll be walking along, moving at your own pace.
