Rightful Liberty!
Rightful Liberty!
When a girl is born, teach her the same things you would teach your son,
Adequately enough, to be self-sufficient and an independent woman,
Give her the freedom of thought, speech, and expression,
And the strength to fight societal pressure and associated depression,
Teach her to stand up for herself even if it means standing alone,
Rather than waiting for her father or brother to be her backbone,
If you never want her to be a 'damsel in distress';
Teach her to be a warrior, rather than a princess,
Just be her helping aid, to guide her, into her decisions,
Let her make mistakes and be responsible for her actions,
She will be grateful when she learns from her own experience,
For she will build herself brick-by-brick; through her brilliance,
Yes, she will fall, she will hurt, lend her a shoulder if she wants to cry,
Little setbacks are bound to happen when things go awry,
Give her the wings, help her take off and teach her to fly,
There would be no surpassing feeling than to see her fly high!
