See The World With New Eyes

Leave behind old themes, old ideas,

The world is not the same anymore,

Start thinking of new ways,

The begining of new days.

Where the mask we wear;

Will make strangers of us.

But the human spirit will heal;

Once again will start to feel,

The stranger behind the mask is a friend.

The strange land is our own world.

Where once we were happy.

This time we lost our way,

never again shall we lose our way again,

We shall fight back we will not fail.

For are we not built to last,

Look at our history from the past,

Plague, war, pestilence, holocaust.

We have seen it all, we have always won,

We have survived, we have not lost.

Even if we lost all our means,

We shall always prevail,

For survival is in our genes,

For we now understand,

What it is to extend a helping hand,

To those who are hungry,

The lockdown has taught us about love,

About caring, about sharing our time,

We have now learnt our lessons, for,

We now hear each other's cries,

For we have now learnt,

To see the world with new eyes.
