Smouldering Ember

   

It has been glowing in the heart

Since eight years long.

The mind is too smart 

To forget it at all.

It was the blunder

Committed resulting thunder.

Such words I never dared to utter. 

I was compelled to bring them out,

Though I greatly fought. 

I was the victim of temptation 

Having worthless attraction. 

I sought purity of soul from her.

She tried gifting shagginess. 

I hankered for care.

She lured me with greatness. 

That was the day 

When I lost my self-esteem.

I underestimated myself 

Turning to the hay.

It was the conspiracy with infallible system.

Since that day, I never bargained for self

Cherishing vanity, purity, spirituality,

Tranquillity avoiding enmity. 

However, the Ember is smouldering 

In quest of truthfulness. 

That will be quenched, 

Unless my quest is over

For spiritual power 

And pure love that is never seen,

Although having existed!
