With several torn pages by my side,

I sat near the window beside.

Scribbling for hours that passed by,

All I wanted was a second try.

I yelled, I cried and wanted an escape,

Tired of wearing this anguish cape.

I wondered for days, looking for an answer,

To something that can calm down my anger.

Betrayed, perplexed, and wounded I was,

Waiting for a fairy to pass.

I stood up, walking towards the windowpane,

Watching mother enjoying the summer rain.

Draped in a maroon saree, she stood bare feet,

Finding solace in the grass underneath.

She turned towards me with her sparkling eyes,

Telling me to enjoy the feeling of this paradise.

Her wrinkled eyes shared a smile,

Finding me standing by her side.

Embracing me with a hug so warm,

She solaced me with her graceful charm.

Rise from the ashes that gave you pain,

She asked me to come and dance in the rain.

Feeling joyous and maverick like a girl so young,

I told her how I haven't danced for so long.

She laughed and asked me to question myself

Why find solace in someone else?

Close your eyes and think again,

Wasn't your solace your younger self?

I stood there for hours in sonder,

Seeing a fairy in my mother.

Handing me an old dairy from the shelf,

She tells, "Write something about your younger self"

I walked into my room again,

Moving past the anguishing pain,

To find solace in the pages again.
