Solitude - Being Alone
Solitude - Being Alone
Theme: The Theme of my poem is the loneliness that served as an opportunity for me to know myself better and to illuminate the thought that life hangs on hopes.
Alone, all alone in my world,
The silence was like gentle snowfall
as soothing as the whisper of a summer wind,
As quiet as the passage of stars.
Alone, all alone to ponder over my situations!
Meaning: The first stanza is about the self-introspection in loneliness. The taste of solitude is like gentle snowfall, as soothing as the whisper of a summer wind and as quiet as the passage of stars.
The snow like confetti
that blanketed the entire city,
The dark bellied clouds of negativity
blanketed my entire vivacity.
Alone, all alone to ponder over my situations!
Meaning: It is about the gloom that had encircled me and had pulled down my morale. The clouds of negativity blanketed my entire liveliness. Negative thoughts became a Velcro in my mind serving as a Teflon to the positive thoughts.
Tales of hundred failures
And ten thousand broken dreams!
What dreams were lost, I'll never know.
Alone, all alone to ponder over my situations!
Meaning: The thoughts of the negativity had so eclipsed my dreams that I had started feeling as if I had met with 100 failures and 10000 broken dreams.
One night, when I inked my pain
dark as the whistling thrush at dawn,
Hope broke through the darkness
Without a bluster of effort,
The ray of hope swept the panting dark away!
Some suns are brighter by night than day!
Meaning: One night, when I was penning down my pain which was as dark as the whistling thrush at dawn, I was treading with trepidation. Suddenly, hope broke through without a bluster of effort and palanquined me in continuing my journey to know myself better and shaping me up for the best.
