Stepping Into Light
Stepping Into Light
In darkness unknown,
With no ray of hope,
I tread on alone,
Stumbling upon stones,
My insides are damp and cold,
So, I tighten my hold,
To move on and be bold.
I spread my wings,
Through a cage of things that haunted my dreams - for days to go.
I steady my soul and climb on with hope,
For I am afraid of none.
My impulse to be in the sunshine and be free,
Pushes me on with a will, so strong.
Each foot I place increases my pace,
Towards the door of brightness:
Behold! And what I see,
Fills me with glee,
I see the darkness unknown,
Lying defeated at my feet,
And I sing all alone,
Facing the clear sky above,
Of the wilderness, I‘ve been through,
With a determined nerve.
Of the wilderness, I‘ve been through,
With a determined nerve.
