Summer Day
Summer Day
Sat on the couch
On a hot summer day,
He probably inhaled
Gallons of water.
Amidst the heat
And no sign of a gentle breeze,
He glanced at the skies
For some rains.
Distant desert dunes
Threatening a havoc,
Him surrounded by oasis,
He leaned against the palm.
Wishing for the cool ice
Just winter would provide,
He hoped for a soothing sherbet
For his parched throat.
Doing nothing but wiping sweat,
All day, even in the night,
He wanted the summer
To soon give in way to monsoons.
Leaned against the couch,
On an even hotter summer day,
He felt dizzy with the heat spell,
Only wanting to be fully drenched
In the cool oasis water.
