Tears Of Illusion
Tears Of Illusion
Innocent I was
The day my fresh warm tears
Laced my cheeks
The day I felt my heart crack
As we parted ways
That never existed
My blurred vision
Still sought for it
The path that leads to you
East-West, North-South
I chased it here and there
My eyes opened
I stumbled by the mirage
Hurting my limbs and bones
I cried in agony
Seeking for console
From people ignorant of woes
With sealed lips
And drenched lashes
I forced my ears to hear
The magical voice
That my innocence bore
In its false hopeful sphere
Amongst the buzzing crowd
I still look here and there
Searching that joyous face
Cars go by, road runs high
Missing your precious trace
I still hope
To find that way
That leads me to the other
Where you stand by
Waving your hand
To greet me with a smile
The tears might run
And heart might stop
Knowing this is real
But my self knows now
To stop myself
Before we merge together
For I know it now
With every experience
Of hopeful deceit
Of illusion trapping the heart
My nails, thus, dig
My tender palms
Lessoning my art
I now smile with no way 'round
And toss to the other side
Hoping the pillow to gently cuddle
And softly wipe my eyes.
