That Night...

It was 12 at night when I awoke,

It was then when I heard somebody choke.

I looked over my shoulders to catch the culprit,

When on my left calf I felt a sudden pain, I think I was bit!

I lay there on the ground, writhing in pain,

My screaming and wailing, they all went in vain.

I saw a shadow creeping up the corners of my bed,

I was afraid I’d soon be dead.

The shadow crept closer, it was almost on me now,

I felt scared, so I crouched down.

It was then that I was blinded by a sudden light,

I lost my hearing; I lost my sight.

It was a creature of great strength and might,

I think it was the Almighty who assisted me in my plight.
