The Bird in the Cage
The Bird in the Cage
Trapped like a bird in a cage
Never to be freed.
Longing to spread its wings and fly
But afraid to fly somewhere.
May be the little bird
Try to blame us-
" How can you enslave me?
When I was born for the open sky".
How can we trapped her
In a gilded cage
Where she cannot fly.
Jumps here to there and
Hitting against the cage sides.
Nothing can be crueller,
Then holding someone's freedom.
No one was born to be in bondage,
None of God's creation.
Neither human, nor animal,
Or even an entire nation.
Freedom is our birth right,
And of every creature.
So, take a lesson and set her free,
To her boundless kingdom.
