The Bus Ride At 16
The Bus Ride At 16
Back seats of the bus
Rough roads to fascinating places
I played her my favourite song
And As Ed sang, 'time's forever frozen still'
She looked into my eyes and said 'that's beautiful right there'
Unaware that she was beautiful than any of those lyrical segments
She was the Kegon falls of my heart
My 200 emotions diving into her essence.
All these metaphors yet she was incomparable.
This love was pure. This love was abstruse reality.
This love was the gushing river, my feelings the eroding earth.
She was kind as the autumn breeze
As gentle as your first kiss.
My mind was reckless, hers was full of dreams.
I was in love at 16, she was the inevitable sin
Yet, she was the reason for my morality
She was my most powerful ethic
This love was forbidden. This love was partial
This love was August; my lies, the rain.
I was the mermaid, she was the Princess.
This was a fairy tale.
And All she wanted was a Prince.
