The Dark Chamber
The Dark Chamber
Went into that dark chamber,
I didn’t want to.
Got to learn some new skills,
'Cause I got some dreams to kill.
Education is just work, not a thrill,
Not the light, just the means to pay the bill.
Went into that dark chamber,
I wasn’t welcome there.
Had some hopes about my freedom.
They laughed like I cracked a joke.
Dreams ha, they never heard of them before.
They lectured me about the ethics,
The rules to follow while murdering hope.
It’s a boring ritual, I said.
Went into that dark chamber,
didn’t know what else to do.
I wasn’t that blind and clueless before.
I could only see what they showed me.
I don’t know what it takes to get there.
Can I pay that price?
Do I even want what they give?
They saw me struggling down the alley,
Dazed and confused was I,
Right at the entrance,
They saw me and knew I was a fool.
Went into that dark chamber,
I had to make my life,
Earn some bread, feed my tribe,
There was no escape,
Suffering in return of their respect
For what I was doing.
Never felt so communist before,
Killing my spirit for my tribe to flourish.
What a bargain!
Went into that dark chamber,
I knew I was really brave.
My mother told me so.
I could stay strong all alone,
She trusts me and I love her the most.
The dark chamber is not that dark I guess,
In the corner I see her smiling at me.
She believes that I will switch on the light someday
And the dark chamber will never be
Dark again.
