The Emotions
The Emotions
When started my journey
I am fully aware that
My stay at that venue is for a few months
Not more than six to be precise
I enjoyed the change of weather
Their affectionate smiles
The kid's unrequited love
I sang to him many more lullabies
than I learned from my mother
Looking at his sleepy eyes
I found a full moon bright
Teaching him his first steps
I fondly recall his father's learning
I made him my dear parrot
When I taught him his first sweet words
Running after him
I forgot my age and aching knees
He took an hour or so to have his bowlful of porridge
Becoming his Teddy or a bug's Bunny an elephant or a horse
I clad the magician's coat
In all these splendors
I never knew
How fast the time flew by
Now it's time that
I should come back to my place
Carrying loads of memories
The toddler and I enjoyed
The heart of a granny and the kid still strongly bonded
He and I can only realise
How it feels to be apart even for a few months of time
