The Great Sunderban Circus

Shyamali and Shera were on leave today

As it was the fourth Saturday 

Their kids, Suhani and Simba too had finished their practicals very early that day

For they had been promised a gift

To the famous Sundarban Circus, it was a trip

The family bought two half and two full tickets

And got seated after buying some tidbits 

Angel, the squirrel started the show and performed superb gymnastics.

Fatima, the tigress enthralled the audience with her refreshing comedies.

Mayuri, the ballerina, spread her feathers as she sensuously danced to foot-tapping numbers.

Roshni executed flawless mimicry and entertained the visitors

Totaram flawlessly anchored the program from the start to end

Parkati, spread her broken wings and quacked

As tears rolled down her ugly eyes

On the audience created an opposite impact

Chitra and her family displayed their hopping skills and playfully kicked their buddies

As the long-necked Girri, went about bowing his neck to thank everybody

The show-stopper, Nilesh, the elephant, and ring-master, made those bipedal beasts, dance

To the thunderous sounds, he made, as he raised his tusks

"Who are these feeble bipedal upright animals dancing to Nilesh uncle's orders Dad", asked the kids.

"These are residents of concrete jungles", replied Shera explaining their traits.

"To various species and skins, they belong, he further explained

They are staunch believers of their false potential he coldly exclaimed

They consider themselves to be

The most developed amongst all of us

And behave as if they are 

The Lords of our universe
