The Identity Crisis
The Identity Crisis
Lost in a maze of confusion and doubt,
I search for a way to figure it out,
My identity, who am I really?
A puzzle unsolved, a mystery so silly.
I try on different masks and roles,
In search of a truth that consoles,
But nothing seems to fit just right,
I'm trapped in a perpetual night.
Is it my name, my race or my gender,
That defines who I am and renders,
A sense of belonging, a place to be,
Or is it something deeper inside of me?
Perhaps it's the sum of my experiences,
And the emotions that rise like incenses,
A unique blend of joy and pain,
That shapes me and leaves a lasting stain.
I long to find my true north,
To break free from this endless forth,
And embrace the person that I am,
Without fear or shame, without any jam.
For in the end, it's not about the label,
Or the opinions of others that enable,
But the love and acceptance I give myself,
That leads me to a place of true wealth.
So I'll keep searching and exploring,
And be open to the magic of life unfolding,
For in the journey of self-discovery,
Lies the beauty of true identity.
