The Kill (prompt 1)
The Kill (prompt 1)
I, the king of the jungle,
once roamed fearlessly,
no human could tread aimlessly.
When I roared,
the birds, the deer, the fowl, my track they cleared,
for, their majesty was on the prowl.
I never hid and growled.
My aim was just,
in me they had trust.
Peace in the forest reigned.
My Dynasty Supreme was maintained.
I was proud of my stripes,
I was happy in my life,
When one day,
I was in a trap,
Arrows piercing me,
hunters surrounding me,
not one , not two, but many.
They killed me, they stripped me,
My striped hide, my pride,
they carried away.
I was their game, for their name and fame, in the town.
Soon this became rampant,
My species was targeted, often.
Dwindling the number of my
striped members.
Was that a matter of concern? Oh! man!
Now you have realized
Killing relentlesly, mercilessly, for my striped hide, is a crime.
Protection under 'Save Tigers 'is a project,
bringing us back in our cradle.
Thank you Human beings
May life on this planet flourish.
